Tether’s USAT Stablecoin Receives Deloitte Reserve Report Approval
Tether's newly regulated U.S. stablecoin, USAT, has achieved a milestone with Deloitte signing off on its reserve report. The attestation, conducted under AICPA standards, marks a shift toward greater transparency in the stablecoin market, long dominated by opaque offshore issuers.
Anchorage Digital Bank, the federally chartered issuer of USAT, now operates under OCC supervision with reserves exceeding circulating tokens. As of January 31, 2026, the $17.6 million reserve held a $103,325 surplus over the 17.5 million USAT tokens in circulation.
The Deloitte review focused solely on report accuracy, not regulatory compliance—a distinction that underscores the evolving nature of stablecoin oversight. This development signals institutional validation for crypto-backed dollar alternatives as they enter the regulated banking sphere.
